LuxAI, newcomer startup incubated since beginning of June at lux future lab won Pirate Summit Luxembourg. lux future lab congratulates LuxAI for being one of the two startup selected to the final competition in Cologne, Germany in September.

 

Pirate Summit is a series of events that is created for and by start-ups. Wednesday June 8th they held an event at Rotondes in Luxembourg in order to discover the ecosystem in Europe.

On the evening of 8 June, a presentation of local partners and Pirate Summit by co-founder Till Orhmann was followed by a round table, the pitches of nine selected start-ups and a networking session. Each project promoter was given 3 minutes to make their case, with several sectors represented including health, 3D, finance and robotics.

A jury composed of experts from the local ecosystem delivered their verdict following the event: LuxAi convinced the panel with its functional robot, which helps to create social interaction with children with autism.

LuxAI is an innovative startup specialized in disruptive robotic solutions for education, health-care and entertainment. The company is a spin-off from the University of Luxembourg to use the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in building social robots for assisting people. Our mission is making socially assistive robots economical and user-friendly, in order to enable all teachers, therapists and care givers to use advanced robots for their everyday work of improving the health and education of people. Our first product, QT, is a humanoid robot with the size of a four years old child. OrgaMime is the other startup that made it to the final in Germany as a start-up demystifying intestinal mechanisms through a smart chip.

Only the best start-ups from each city Pirate Summit visited will make it to Germany for the After the tour and a selection of the best start-ups in each city, the team will regroup in Cologne, Germany for the final competition in September. In Cologne, the main event is an open air competition featuring pitches from the best start-ups of the year.luxai
